OK, long time no art from me, so here's something little to compensate... this fan art is a little attempt at showcasing what some of Paint.NET's effect filters can achieve if you play with them.

It's a fan art photomanipulation derivative of the world's most famous painting (and pop icon image) — the Mona Lisa.
This is the secondary photomanipulation work on which I used the Photo > Soften Portrait... effect from Paint.NET.
The initial photomanipulation of which this one is a small derivative can be found here, I used the Distort > Polar Inversion... effect and some cropping to produce/generate the manipulations.

The source file used is freely available from Wikipedia.

All credit for the original Mona Lisa goes to Leonardo da Vinci, of course. Since the work is in the public domain for worldwide usage, this work is also in the public domain. Alternatively, if you wish, you can use it under the CC BY license (i.e. citing da Vinci for the original and my humble nickname for my 15-minute efforts for the manipulation). :D It's your choice which license you decide to use.

Mona Lisa (also known as La Gioconda or La Joconde) is a 16th-century portrait painted in oil on a poplar panel by Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci during the Renaissance in Florence, Italy. The work is currently owned by the Government of France and is on display at the Musée du Louvre in Paris under the title Portrait of Lisa Gherardini, wife of Francesco del Giocondo.
The painting is a half-length portrait and depicts a seated woman (it is almost unanimous that she is Lisa del Giocondo) whose facial expression is frequently described as enigmatic. The ambiguity of the subject's expression, the monumentality of the composition, and the subtle modeling of forms and atmospheric illusionism were novel qualities that have contributed to the continuing fascination and study of the work. The image is so widely recognized, caricatured, and sought out by visitors to the Louvre that it is considered the most famous painting in the world.

P.S. You're free to use it as a wallpaper. Just download the fullview version and resize it to your display's resolution (in px) using your favorite image/graphics editor program (if you're using PDN I recommend using the Best Quality resampling method when doing Image > Resize...) and save the resulting resized version as a new image file under a different filename.
