EPIC MUSIC recommendation

Wed Jul 8, 2009, 12:14 PM
EDIT:
I've been tagged by ~Tanglehead and so it goes...
1. Post these rules into your journal entry.
2. Each tagged person must tell 8 things about themselves.
3. At the end you have to tag 8 people and post their icons in your journal.
4. Then go back to their page with a comment saying you tagged them.
5. No tag backs. Ever.

Here we go with the info bits about me (randomly ordered):
1. I enjoy playing RPG maps at WarCraft III:The Frozen Throne over the Garena gaming servers client
2. I plan to take over... some random burger stands and vandalize the food. ;)
3. I use "I" too often to refer to my omnipotent personality. :D
4. I often find myself too angry at the Western culture/societies or should I say their mainstream cr*ppy culture (Eastern, Northern and Southern societies, too, I'm not a racist, but more of a modest misanthrope/humanist/realist/etc combo ^^; ).
5. Really, I like to be critical about everything, especially noobs like myself ^^;
6. When I act stupid, don't get near me or you'll definitely catch the same syndrome of pissing people off.
7. I don't own or use cellphones (yet!) Erm, my ancient SE K610i is still on once in a while, to be honest. :D
8. I might have lied about the previous ones. ^^;

So, I tag the following people (randomly picked from the deviants that I :+devwatch:):
:iconfibrefox: :iconcoolmaggi: :iconkodriak: :iconscreaminggerbil:
:iconspud100: :iconspartan-002: :iconaatwo: :iconabfc: .

:iconepic-winplz: :iconmegaepicwinplz:
I recently stumbled upon some mind-blowing pieces of epic music to listen at on Imeem (requires free registration & login and Adobe Flash Player installed).
There are 157-or-so songs in total to inspire the creativity in everyone. I recommend disabling the 30 sec preview ones first to listen to full songs only.

I know, it's just that I have a crush on really epic music - orchestral with rock, ambient, techno and metal elements, it's away too good to miss out on - go and register to enjoy such an epic playlist!

Sorry for being a bit off, but I'm preparing for a major English exam (TOEFL iBT) I recently sat on an exhausting TOEFL iBT exam and my final 12th grade at school has just begun and I'm too worried about these to allow myself to submit anything new... perhaps it would be wise to update some of the old ones then (like the pixel fonts pack), again if I find the time and the proper motivation. Sorry, everything in reality matters, art is just part of reality, although a very important particle nonetheless. ^^;
But I will, once I have more free time! Until then, I'll be studying and watching some anime and basically wasting my miserable life... :D
But don't listen to me - don't waste your life, go out there and discover the amazing reality that we live in (and return safely to your home, full of new experiences and knowledge)!

P.S. I hope it helps bring the creative muse in you! Thank me later by commenting below with links to your new deviations! :sing:

Science stamps: Commenters, where are you?

Fri May 15, 2009, 2:52 PM
EDIT(OFF-TOPIC): I just submitted my first ever piece of dA news - 5 easy ways to protect your work from copycats
Here's an extract:
Copyright violation is a hot topic, concerning both digital and traditional works, especially artworks and patents.
Here, I'll list 5 basic ways to improve the recognition of your works as your original creations. You may already know all of them but try not to forget them but be aware of them the whole time.

Most of the discussed ways are quite easy to get around but will nevertheless increase the amount of work the copycat has to do to "steal" your creations.
So, the followinh simple tips will help others recognize the true author. More complex ways of protection exist, so research and use them when and if you see them fit for your specific needs. (continues at [link] )

------

Since the lack of comments is quite depressing, I came up with yet another journal entry(this one).
OK, the topic this time is... science stamps on dA.

You must have seen plenty of science-related stamps around dA, what's your opinion on the science support movement here?
Do you agree or disagree with the making of such stamps?

What do you think about science in general? We've all won from its advance and use the achievements of its development in our everyday life but are we ready to step in and develop it further? Or do you have a different reason to live(to have fun or just be yourself!?)?

For me, it's what I want to know, do and develop in life(the Arts as well). This, of course, doesn't mean that dreams should be left behind - they're also an important aspect of the advanced reason behind the human condition, plus intuition is also being used to speed up science reseach.

Here are some stamps which I believe are examples of the topic in question(some are off-topic):
[link] , [link] , [link] , [link] , [link] , [link] , [link] , [link] , [link] , [link] , [link] , [link] , [link] , [link] , [link] , [link] , [link] , among other.

Note: I commented with the following to almost all stamps above:
Science stamps are the best!
Human reason is proud to have developed the scientific method and its corresponding philosophy of empirical investigating of nature/the universe/reality.

And one more question - what's your opinion on science education in high school or university(if you have any)? Does it fulfil its purpose or just makes teenagers obey the public opinion and stereotypes? Feel free to disagree.

Discussing philosophy topics would also be nice.

P.S. I'm quite aware that my vocabulary may sound quite conformist but don't be left with that impression - personally, I hate conformism and myself when I find myself acting in a conformist way which I really fundamentally disagree with. It's just that I'm not as good in expressing exactly what I want to say as I would like to be.
I apologize in advance if there are any typos.

Feedback is much appreciated!

Are you into PLZ icons?

Tue May 12, 2009, 10:30 AM
So?
Here's my humble try:
:iconwow2plz:

Show me your findings in the comments below and check my previous journal entry if you haven't already! :D
(School is quite depressing for me these days but I'll try to live through it - the summer vacation isn't far, yet there are so many final exams before it rolls in... eh... :( Only truths in the form of knowledge seem to cheer me up...) :bleh:

TIP: Multiple PLZ icons can form some stunning results if properly aligned! =D

Happy Easter Day and stuff!

Fri May 8, 2009, 10:13 AM
EDIT2(08 May): OMG! Have you seen the new poll? Better do it now, veeery cool stuff are coming to deviantART soon! :fella: You don't believe me? See for yourself - HQ.dA.com - the first NEW group on dA.

EDIT: Pssst, random crappy song thingie is awaiting your critique at [link] ! :D

Happy Easter, everyone! Egg fighting will continue tomorrow and hopefully even more cookies will be on the shelves, don't worry! :)
Well, I've been up to a lot of stuff recently. I was still ill 3 days ago but now my body is finally in a much healthier condition thanks to the medicine(antibiotic pills) which I had to take 3 times a day.
In other news, I spend the first day of Easter at my grandmother's village along with my parents, my younger brother and my uncle. There was a fried goat for dinner and I even saw it get slaughtered and boned! :fear: I ate mostly rice, cookies and yoghurt... my grandma makes the yummiest cookies I've ever tasted and I'm chewing some of them even in front of the monitor. :)
So, I had to leave at 17:00 and catch a bus to home and I spend the late afternoon at home. I'm finally in my bedroom, getting ready to sleep after a long day of being lazy, taking some walks around the neighbourhood, playing WarCraft III:TFT over Garena and chatting over Skype, the usual drill. I may say that I prefer to stay off the mainstream but one can never escape the rest of the world for too long. Still, egg fighting was great and this year I even managed to crack one of my brother's colored Easter eggs with one of mine, lucky egg I guess(or a tough shell to stay truthful). :)
School starts at Tuesday and the usual anxiety that accompanies it bursts into my mind with dangerous might...
Well, there's only two and a half months until the end of this school yeat, so I'm in higher spirits knowing that it'll end soon. I'm still totally unsure of what to do/study after that and the future seems gloomy and unknown, as always, but we'll see.
Again, happy celebrating Easter and never forget that reality is the most important thing [period]. ;)
:cookie: :cookie:
I'm starting to become aware of culture shock and disrespect/misconceptions about other cultures and countries... I may have to go abroad to clear my own misconceptions about the people of the world and their societies.

On a side note, let's list the big news around dA these days...
:bulletblue: The Portfolio Poll
OK, here are the results while I'm writing this(final results may vary):
Which Portfolio feature is most important to you?
28% - 1,546 deviants said Simple/clean layout options to choose from, with support for advanced CSS customization
3% - 138 deviants said Low profile deviantART branding
4% - 238 deviants said Multiple portfolios per user
9% - 471 deviants said Ability to set up a portfolio with your own domain (ex: jonsmithart.com)
7% - 387 deviants said No need for visitors to register to view deviations flagged as mature content
1% - 39 deviants said Support for RSS feeds
5% - 285 deviants said Module type function for layout and add-ons (ex: event calendars, bio, resume)
42% - 2,296 deviants said I need all of these things, plz!
2% - 103 deviants said Other (please comment)

Have you voted yet? DO IT, MAN! NOW! :D
Anyway, this poll is one of the most important inquiries around dA for the past months for 2 main reasons:
- dA's staff ask the deviants on how to evolve(e.g. what new features to implement first and how)
- dA Portfolios are going to be an EPIC WIN when they arrive ;)
So, it's our duty as deviants to answer this important question.
My personal opinion on this matter is quite straight-forward but motivated by my personal preferences and the above results:
Finally, the poll we've all been waiting for is here! Awesome of dA to ask us such an important question! You guys rock!
And my opinion is...
The truth = I need ALL of this things, plz!
If dA realizes(i.e. accomplishes) all of them, I'm going to explode from overfandom towards them! XD
No, really, getting all of these features is the ULTIMATE feature. :D

:bulletblue: Message Center - Retention Changes
:bulletblue: DeviantART presents: CRITIQUE!(the new Subscribers-only feature)

Happy 2009 April Fool's Day! XD

Wed Apr 1, 2009, 2:44 PM
Yeah, have a hell heaven of a time today!
Don't let the Fella catch you with all your unsubmitted masterpieces!
And great job, you totally deserve that DD of yours! XD x)

That's enough, I suppose. Newgrounds.com also did something awesome for April's Fool, see it there - [link] (tip: it's not a joke at all, that's the joke!).

P.S. I'm in NO way responsible for my words on 1st of April each year, so bear with me and my overbizarre mind. :D

So, did you catch the pun/joke of this post already? NO? :( Shame on you - look at the submission date above. :D :fella:
